Particula Group — a deep-tech bioeconomy company on the Adriatic, creating long-term value through the circular economy.Creating long-term value.
Particula Group turns the planet's oldest biology into the materials of its future. From a third-generation microalgae biorefinery on the Adriatic, we develop circular, bio-based products — and partner across Europe's leading research programmes to build a regenerative economy.
We don't extract from nature. We work with it — and give back.
The Particula Group: a 130-year Dalmatian family heritage rebuilt as a modern circular-bioeconomy company.A 130-year line,
pointed at the future.
Particula Group is built on knowledge passed down through the Dobrović family's business — and rebuilt around modern biotechnology and the circular bioeconomy.
What began as viticulture, herb distillation and aquaculture on the Dalmatian coast is now a research-driven bioeconomy company.
The family business — established in 1896 in Pirovac — grew over generations across viticulture, medicinal-herb distillation, cooperage, livestock, agriculture and aquaculture. After the Second World War it split into independent companies still active in the agri-food sector today.
Particula Group carries that heritage forward, developing products on the principles of a circular bioeconomy: short supply chains, alternative energy, regional production and in-house raw materials that feed the agricultural cycle.
Dalmatian beginnings
The Dobrović family business is founded in Pirovac — viticulture, herb distillation, cooperage, livestock, agriculture and aquaculture.
The biorefinery
A biorefinery for the production and extraction of microalgae and photosynthetic bacteria opens in Viškovo, near Rijeka.
Certified organic
All products and extracts are certified for use in organic agriculture under EU Regulation 2018/848.
Production at scale
A facility for organic fertilizers and biostimulants opens — the core business of regenerative-agriculture inputs.
New frontiers
An investment cycle begins in industrial hemp and alternative proteins for human and animal nutrition.
Our circular model: sustainable biomass in, proprietary biotechnology in the middle, circular bio-based products out.One circular loop.
Sustainable biomass in. Proprietary biotechnology in the middle. Circular bio-based products out — with carbon captured along the way.
Sustainable biomass
Organic-certified microalgae and nitrogen-fixing bacteria, cultivated on controlled farms and in waste-water streams.
Proprietary process
Self-developed photobioreactors and a third-generation biorefinery, monitored remotely via IoT, with CO₂ capture built in.
Circular products
Biostimulants, biofertilizers, food- and feed-grade biomass, bioplastics fillers and high-value extracts.
Our technology: microalgae and nitrogen-fixing bacteria run at biorefinery scale — photosynthesis industrialised.Photosynthesis,
industrialised.
We operate microalgae and bacteria biotechnology at biorefinery scale — producing food, feed and biochemicals while capturing carbon and fixing nitrogen.
Self-developed photobioreactors
We run open and closed semi-batch continuous cultivation on our pilot facility. Our own photobioreactors consume up to five times less energy than conventional PBRs — sharply lowering production cost — and are operated remotely from the lab via an IoT monitoring and control system.
- Organic-certified biomass production
- Up to 5× lower energy than conventional PBRs
- Remote IoT monitoring & control
Turning air into fertilizer
Our work spans symbiotic and non-symbiotic nitrogen-fixing bacteria. Nitrogen fixation converts atmospheric nitrogen into ammonia — the basis for the amino acids and proteins all life depends on — letting us cut the cost and footprint of fertilizers and biostimulants made by cyanobacteria.
- Biostimulants & seed coatings
- Sustainable textile colorants
- Anaerobic digestion feedstock

Life-cycle assessment
Calculating the full lifetime environmental impact of a product or service, cradle to grave.
Life-cycle cost
Quantifying the direct monetary cost of a product or service over its entire life.
Social life-cycle
Assessing the social dimension of a product or service to complement LCA and LCC analysis.
Project management
Expert coordination of innovation projects, from proposal preparation through to delivery.
3D printing
Solid 3D-object printing for high-quality prototypes and demonstration parts.

The group's science reaches the market through focused, organically certified product brands.

TERRALGAL™
An organic blend of microalgae and nitrogen-fixing bacteria with microbial extracts that wakes the living soil — improving its enzymatic and biological activity for higher yield, healthier crops and far fewer pesticides. A complete range for every stage of plant growth, certified organic under EU 2018/848.

CANNADRIA™
Organically cultivated CBG cannabis flowers & leaves, fertilized with microalgae isolated from the karst Adriatic — a non-psychoactive product line grown without synthetic inputs.
